About me

I started being creative at an early age already, I always loved tinkering, painting and drawing. Crayons, permanent markers, cardboard and glue, were just my thing. I drove my mother crazy with trying out fancy silver and golden touch-up pencil on the black leathercouch or testing red permanent markers on the freshly painted walls.

During my teens I discovered my love for fashion. I got my A-Level in fashion design, but during those two years sorrounded by clothing, I found something even better than clothes: I stumbled across Photoshop! I taught myself how to use it and quickly became obsessed with digital art and graphic design. I found what my heart really beats for: Design. I taught myself InDesign and Illustrator as well, and when I started thinking about having a website, I also got into programming and coding.

I packed my bags, left my family home and moved to the beautiful city of Hamburg, and studied Communication Design and new Media at the Design Factory International. I’ve graduated, mastering the final project with a distinction and now I work as a freelance designer. Wanna hire me?

About royal nightmare

Started as »Cycosmos Design« March 28th, 2006
Relaunched as »Royal Nightmare« January 1st, 2008

Why Royal Nightmare?

When I started my website back in 2006 I came up with the name »Cycosmos«, because I was fascinated by the outer space and cyborgs. After having that name for a while I realized that name was already taken by a german record company for an artificial musician called »E-Cyas« who had one single in the charts in 1999 (for everyone who’s interested, here’s the song @ Youtube), so I thought about a new name: a name that hasn’t been taken yet.

At that time we had a task at school, to come up with a name for a fictional company we would want to run. We had to design business cards and papers in several designs, and I brainstormed for names. From all the names I had, I really fell in love with »Royal Nightmare«. So I made designs for the business cards und finally took that name for my website as well. It just fits perfectly. A mixture of two oppostites, two elements that normally don’t match.

A digital realm somewhere inbetween darkness and light. Between monsters and fairytales, amongst killers and angels. A dark circus with colorful attractions.
